the black book of communism explained

so after making this meme about death under communism to stir the pot as usual for my blog, I saw one of the leftists that got pissed at me argue communism DID kill 100 million people but it was marxism-leninism and they're an anarchist so they don't support the communism that killed 100 million people.

let's get started. there are people of all political views that know the 100 million statistic is bullshit, including the people who contributed to the book themselves. for anyone who doesn't know, the idea that communism killed exactly 100 million people comes from 'the black book of communism', the anticommunist version of the 'black book', a book made by the jewish antifascist committee detailing the crimes of nazis. guess what? in the black book of communism, nazis and their collaborators are counted as victims of communism again and again (jsyk there are lots of instances of antisemitism in the black book of communism screenshotted here if you want to avoid that). aside from actual nazis, the black book of communism carelessly counts other deaths from war and natural disasters. it is the equivalent of taking the death toll of a war a capitalist nation is involved in and claiming all those dead are victims of capitalism--which could actually make more sense given the profit motive behind war. but with all this said, were there people killed by communists for political reasons? yes. is this justifiable? well, in order to defend a communist revolution against much more wealthy and powerful capitalist countries doing anything in their power to stop it, including infiltration, there will logically be casualties directly related to maintaining communism. anyone who claims a communist revolution can succeeed without some level of suppression is a liar, unless we teleport to a word without capitalist, imperialist nations who will leave an endless trail of blood if it means "stopping the spread of communism". reality isn't always great. you must ask yourself what you would do and what should've been done instead, because you can't run from history forever, and in order to have a revolution with positive results, you must learn from the best and worst, and not be afraid to reveal the truth.

i think i'm just afraid that if i dig deep then there will be nothing remarkable about me, or if there is, i won't know what to do with it. silly fears. i wish i knew what to do with my hands. sleeping is so easy.
